New year, new school, endless possibilities!

Hi! My name is Andie Worsley. I am an Explorer, Educator & Tech Enthusiast!
Those of you who know me personally know a few important things about me...
1. I was born and raised in small town Illinois yet, I have now moved back and forth from Illinois to San Antonio, Texas...twice.
2. I have a constant desire for NEW, (new house, new car, new city) I am all about change!
3. My husband is the calm, patient, and composed one. It's called balance.
4. I absolutely love my career as an educator and cannot wait to get my 7th year started!
5. Technology integration and student engagement are my 2 biggest passions :)

With that said, let's talk about this very NEW year! We are one week into school with kiddos and it could not be going any better. My BRAND NEW SCHOOL, in the best school district around, is really starting to feel like home. It helps that some of my dearest friends are embarking on this new school opening with me, I am so lucky to have those ladies by my side :)

Last time we worked together we were just Miss Marsel & Miss Alejandro!
Now introducing, Mrs. Worsley & Mrs. Bargas!

This year I have the absolute pleasure of team teaching. I am able to focus on the ELA & Reading instruction while my amazing teammate focuses on the Math, Science & Social Studies. As our school is so new we each only have 16-17 students in our classes, a teachers dream come true!

As our school is so brand-spanking new we are just beginning to un-tap the technology resources available to us. My classes have already ventured to our computer lab a few times for some fun Kahoot time and we cannot wait to begin using our Box Light interactive projector once the technology gurus come to our rescue #technicaldifficulties

As this is my first official post (aka the first official post that has matured out of the editing phase) I need to briefly explain what the main focus and purpose of this blog will be.
Two wonderful words- Technology Integration.
The last couple of years, when I was teaching in Illinois, I had the pleasure of working not only as a 4th grade teacher but also as a Digital Learning Coach for my district. In that position I had the opportunity to let my passion for technology flourish! After working closely with district administration to embark on a 1:1 Chromebook initiative I (along with a team of amazing teachers & friends) worked to make technology integration a seamless part of daily classroom instruction. In my roll as a Digital Learning Coach I discovered the true possibilities of student engagement. This blog will be used to share my passion for engaging students through technology. I will be sharing what has worked GREAT and what has b o m b e d in my own classroom. I will also collaborate with other teachers to see what has been effective for them.
I cannot wait to get this school year started and share my journey with you!
